Nancy & family—I was saddened to learn that Bill had died on Jan 27. We were best friends from the 5th grade until graduation from OHS in1959. Lots of sports together over those years and many times Bill & I were ball boys for Ky. Wesleyan b-ball games..My sister sent me the obit and she and Beulah are still best friends and this past summer I ran into Allen and he gave me a heads-up on Bills condition. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Lots of memories—he was a good person Sincerely—Norman L. Brown Our thoughts go

I'll miss you, Uncle Bill. You taught me to enjoy good food, good drink, and good company (though I never got into good cigars).

It has been over 20 years since we lived in Owensboro and I had the privilege of spending time with Bill. But I remember my time with him fondly. We played a lot of golf together. He was always the most positive and enjoyable partner to have on the course - so genuine and positive. My wife’s (Glenda Fleming) grandmother was Martha Raymond and she was best buddies with Lucille Tong, Nancy’s mom. We lost my dad (Ken) to Leukemia in March and my mom (Suzanne) a few weeks ago to a form of Alzheimer’s. I know how difficult the last few years has been and I pray for your family. Please know the Wilson and Tong families have had an incredibly positive impact on the Willis and Fleming families and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Bill and I traveled a lot of miles together at OHS and KWC. We ran up and down a lot of basketball courts together and we both were members of the Mystic 13 at KWC. Bill was a good man and a good friend. My prayers go out to Nancy and his family and also to Allen and Beulah. God bless!

I was the family dentist for many years of several members of this family. They individually and collectively were among those patients who brought a smile to my face when I knew they were scheduled that day. Bill was to me always complimentary, and he always enjoyed as I did, having a talk about all manner of subjects. He was a unique man, and he had such a lifetime of stories to tell. He seemed to really enjoy life and friends. I could see it in his facial expressions as he spoke. We would most recently in the last few years, frequent Gary’s Drive-in Restaurant. I would see him there at least once every week or two. A great small place to share stories. He always asked me about my scuba diving and Indian relic hunting adventures when he would see me there. I’m sure he was treasured by his loving family and they and we who knew him will certainly remember him in fondness, and will greatly miss his face and interactions with us all. Goodbye Bill…May God bless your entire family and give them Your Peace during this bittersweet time of wonderful memories and sorrowful loss. Dr. Dan Reynolds.

Life won't be the same without uncle Bill in it. He always greeted you with a big smile and hug. I have a thousand memories and stories... far too many to share here. Growing up and having him as an uncle was amazing. He taught me about respect, how to play golf and poker, and captivated me with stories of his life. Often at holiday parties and family get togethers he would embarrass me by shouting "there's my favorite nephew!" It simply wont be the same without him there the next time i travel home. He was absolutely awesome at telling stories. Making a conversation he had with a bank teller sound like hilarious comedy skit. His presence captivated those around him, lighting up any room he entered with his cheerful charisma. I'll forever be thankful for the time I had with him and will cherish every memory. I love you uncle Bill, enjoy the back 9.
